Petition for Road Humps

Some of you may have received a yellow card in the mail titled Road Hump Petition Alert. For those of you that haven't, There is a petition being circulated to install neighborhood traffic calming within our neighborhood. "Neighborhood traffic calming" is government speak for "ways to slow down speeders in your neighborghood".

Road humps are being proposed to be installed in two places on Shadowlake Dr. One between Carmel Rd and Wannamker and the other between Wannamaker and Rimerton Dr. You can see the proposed locations of the road humps by looking for the white asterisks on the street.

The lead petitioner for this effort is Elizabeth Swartfager at 7327 Shadowlake Dr. You can contact Elizabeth to sign the petition or voice any concerm\ns. She will need 60% of the property owners affected to affirm her petition.

I don't live on Shadowlake Dr., so I am not directly affected by this. However, I support this petition because I know that this street has a large number of speeders. I live on the next street and can see and hear from my back yard the revving of engines and the speed by which some drive down the street. I hope Elizabeth brings her petition to the next neighborhood meeting, scheduled for Saturday the 16th, for discussion and signatures.
